DIY Perfume Stand

I've seen a few pins around Pinterest around using a cake stand as an elevated perfume stand. I have looked around for awhile trying to find the perfect cake stand but have had issues finding one that looked right. So many of them looked frumpy and didn't have the right look. While wandering around Ikea this week, I saw some pieces to make my own!

In reality, all I needed was a flat plate and a pillar candle holder. The total cost for this was roughly $10, I could have probably found the items at the dollar store; however, the ones at Ikea didn't require any spray-painting or updating. I love how cute these perfume bottles look on the black and white striped plate.

Creating this stand was simple. I used Gorilla Glue to attach the candle holder to the plate and let it harden overnight. The next morning I brought it upstairs and gave it a home on my little side table.  This table resides in my bedroom bay window and holds all of my lotions and perfumes.

If Kate Spade made a cake stand I'm pretty sure it would look something like this. She would probably have two options - stripes or polka dots; if she did this I would have a hard time deciding which one I wanted and end up buying both. So in reality it is a good thing she doesn't make them and I will stick to my homemade version.
