How to Make Your Own Ladder Golf

Have you ever played Ladder Golf? (If you haven't played it before, here is the Wikipedia description). A couple years ago we were playing at some friend's house and realized that we could easily make our own, it isn't "regulation size" but it is pretty close and for informal backyard tournaments it works perfectly.

What you need:
  • 12 Golf Balls - 6 each of 2 different colors
  • 6 pieces of rope cut at 20"
  • A drill bit with a slightly larger diameter than the rope
  • 1.5" diameter PVC pipe cut to the following lengths:
    •  6 - 3 feet
    • 20 - 1 foot
    • 4 - elbows
    • 8 - end caps
    • 12 - T pieces
To create the game pieces, drill the balls through the center and thread the rope through. Tie a knot at the end and burn the end with a lighter.

For the "game board" use the 3' sections and use a T (or Elbow for the top) to attach the 1' sections. The 1' sections are also used at the bottom for the feet and sealed with a cap.

One of the great things about this set is that it can easily be disassembled for storage or transporting to a party in the park or camping.

Every summer we enjoy BBQs in the backyard with friends. Each time this game comes out and there is some sort of tournament. I'm not very good, most of my points are accidental.

I hope all of you are having an amazing summer. If you are looking for a fun backyard activity make sure you try this inexpensive and easy project!
