Over the weekend I came up with a way to display them using thrift store frames, ribbon and scrap-booking paper. If you can't find any frames in your local thrift stores I saw some at the dollar store that would work too. I used an 8x10 frame but really the only requirement is that it be a frame that stands up, not hangs.
The frames were natural wood color so I spray painted them white. I knew I wanted a pretty background in the frame so I used some scrapbook paper. I used the glass in the frame to trace onto the paper.
I wanted to secure the ribbon in the back of the frame so that the staple wasn't visible. In order to do this I measured the ribbon so that it would stretch from one back to the other. I laid them out under the frame then secured them with a staple gun.
Once the ribbon is secure, simply add the glass, paper and backing back into the frame!
I love how they turned out! Once this weekend is over they are heading to Aubree's bedroom (she is my little guinea pig and has been the tester for a minky blanket and personalized chair).
If you have a little girl with a bunch of bows this project is a perfect way to store them! Excluding paint drying time this project took about 15 minutes to complete. If you make one of your own send me a picture so I can see how it turns out! If you would like one but don't want to make it send me an email and I can list one for you on Etsy!
Super cute!! I love it!! It's different from what I've seen before. Love that it can stand on top of the dresser. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute! I actually need to make one of these myself. I can't believe how many bows that my baby girl has already! ;)
