DIY Newspaper Seedling Planter

Last week, I mentioned that I created some seedling planters using newspaper.  Below is the tutorial on how to make them.  This is my lovely little greenhouse. It lives on our back deck so that it gets lots of sunshine and is easy to access from the kitchen.

Newspaper Seedling Planters

All you need to create these little pots are newspaper and something round.  I used a water bottle; however something like a pill bottle would work too. You can buy wood tools to make these; however, I like my free option!

Step 1:
Cut Newspaper in half length-wise

Step 2:
Set the water bottle half way down the newspaper slice and roll.

Step 3:
Scrunch up the bottom half under the water bottle. It helps to push the water bottle down onto the table/counter to scrunch the bottom.

Step 4:
Reach in and pull the bottom up into the pot so that you have a flat bottom.

After they have all been made; simply fill with dirt and plant some seeds! These took me about 30 seconds each to make and will help in planting since I always have issues removing the seedlings when it is time to move them into the ground.  With these; the entire pot can be planted into the ground since the newspaper will simply disintegrate.
