New Oven Review

Our oven has been in need of replacing for a while, it still worked, just not well. We visited Home Depot and they were having a sale so I ordered my new oven (online of course so I could use ebates) and it was delivered two weeks ago.  So far, I am loving it and discovering new features. I had a few requirements when I was looking for a replacement: Convection oven, 5th oval burner and a power burner of 17,000 BTU or higher. This met all those requirements and I have been enjoying cooking on it. One thing I also like is that the top is one large grate so pots don't have to balance on the burner.

The first thing that I baked in the oven were sugar cookies and I was impressed with how evenly they baked. I'm still trying to figure out what power to cook various things, I managed to almost burn grilled cheese because I had the power turned up too high (pretty sure that medium on this burner is high on my previous oven).

The only con that I have noticed so far is the clock is too bright so the numbers aren't that distinct and it can be hard to read. We have a correlating microwave above the oven and I can read that clock a lot easier.

With this purchase we have now replaced all of our appliances since moving in 4 1/2 years ago (they were all original to the house and needed to go at their time). All of the appliances in our kitchen are stainless, except for our dishwasher, but I'm not getting rid of my dish drawers just to have them match.

  1. Hi there! I just got my valentine in the mail and wanted to say thanks! It is so cute! :) We have a similar stove and I love that I don't have to balance my pots on just one burner anymore...however I hardly ever use that 5th burner...but it is still nice to have! Cant wait to check out your cute blog - a fellow "adventurer" :)
