Bathroom Vinyl - Decisions Decisions

The home show spurred some interest in doing a couple projects around our house.

All of our bathrooms have ugly vinyl flooring and I have wanted to replace them for quite a while. 3 years ago we replaced all of the flooring in our downstairs (except for closet and laundry/bathroom); while doing this we had to tear out the subfloor in the kitchen which originally had vinyl. Tearing out this subfloor was a lot more work than anticipated so I've promised Brad that the other vinyl flooring can just be replaced with more vinyl.

Vinyl flooring has come a long way in the past years and I have found a few selections that look and feel like real tile but with the ease of sheet vinyl. Here are a couple options that we found while perusing Home Depot on Sunday. I like the coloring more of the one on the right; but Brad likes the pattern more on the left one. I'm hoping I can find something that combines the two desired features.

We have essentially 3 rooms that need to have the vinyl replaced: Master Bath, Upstairs Bath and downstairs laundry/bath room. My estimation is that we could do these three rooms for roughly $1000 and over the course of a couple weekends.

Have any of you replaced vinyl flooring? How difficult was it?

  1. My dad has done a few vinyl floor and it looked pretty easy. The platinum plus is definitely my favorite!
