Today's recipe is combining Recipe Wednesday and my mission to eat through the pantry/freezer. I had a whole chicken that has been in the freezer for a while and I wanted to do something simple with it. My solution for many dinners is my crockpot. I love my crockpot because I can put it together the night before, pull it out of the fridge in the morning to get it started and come home to dinner!
The chicken thawed for a couple days in the fridge and wasn't completely thawed when I put it into the crockpot but it was fine.
Whole Crockpot Honey Chicken
Ingredients:
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1 whole chicken
- 1 onion
- 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 Tablespoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoon oregano
- 2 Tablespoon honey
Directions:
- Place chicken and chicken stock in the crockpot
- Slice the onion and place around the chicken
- Add remaining ingredients on top of the chicken
- Cook on low for 10-12 hours
This turned out amazing and the meat fell off the bone (so much so that I lost both drumsticks pulling it out of the crockpot).
oooh that looks amazing... I bet it smells divine too! I'm pining this to my corckpot board :)
