My First Blog Award

I just got nominated for my first blogger Award!  Jaime over at Mom's Test Kitchen nominated me for the Liebster Award!

The Liebster Award is given to bloggers from fellow bloggers.  It is a great way to recognize us smaller blogs with under 200 followers in hopes of helping them grow even more.

When you are nominated, you are to do each of the following:

• Tell 11 random facts about yourself
• Answer the 11 questions that the blogger who nominated you gave you to answer
• Choose up to 11 other awesome blogs to nominate for the award
• Come up with a list of 11 questions for your nominees to answer

11 Random Facts about me:

1. I listen to voicemails only to clear the icon on my phone.  If you ever call me and I don't answer, don't leave a voicemail, just text me.
2. I love things that glow in the dark.  I am tempted to buy anything that glows in the dark.
3. I've grown up in the Seattle area, yet I hate fish and even the smell of it can make me gag.
4. I prefer to write lists down as opposed to typing them.  Crossing them out is a lot more satisfying this way.
5. My favorite food is Tillamook Cheddar Cheese.
6. I Love shopping.  Being injured has not slowed my shopping, UPS is just here a lot more often
7. Since being married, all of our pets have had names starting with "P" (Psyco the hamster, Pico & Pixel (cats), Princess & Pip (dogs).  This tradition will not continue with our kids.
8. I'm terrified of snakes yet I tend to go on vacation to places like Florida where they are all over the place.  I plan my activities based on the likelihood of seeing a snake and don't like walking in the grass on the off-chance there is one there.
9. I hate to vacuum, I will clean the bathroom any day over vacuuming.  
10. I'm extremely ticklish, I always have to warn the technician doing my pedicures that I will squirm.
11. My friend, a Marriage and Family Therapist, has diagnosed me as "nesting".

Here are the questions that Jaime came up for her nominees to answer:

1. What is the strangest food you have ever cooked?  A couple summers ago, I signed up for a CSA box so each week I got a bunch of different fruits and veggies.  One week, there was a kohlrabi that I chopped up and made into a Cole-slaw type salad.
2. What's your favorite bumper sticker you have ever had and/or seen?  When I graduated from college, I got a bumper sticker that said "I Survived the University of Washington Electrical Engineering Program". It is currently on my bulletin board in my office.
3. Who was or even still is your favorite cartoon character? I have to pick a set of cartoon characters.  I LOVED the show Recess growing up and still think it is an amazing show.
4. If you had a time machine that could take you back in time ~ what year would you go back to and why? Hmmm, maybe right before a company like Microsoft went public so I could buy some stock :)
5. What was your worst dating experience?  I haven't really had any bad dating experiences, I married my first boyfriend and most of our "dating" was just hanging out with friends or going to see movies.  The only thing I can think of is on our one year dating anniversary Brad was sick so our day got cut short.
6. You're about to make your way down 'The Green Mile', what's your last meal? Steak Nachos with Tillamook Cheddar.
7. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?  Graduating from UW with an Electrical Engineering degree and putting it to use at my job.
8. If you could change places with any person, who would it be and why? My dog Princess, she has such an easy life of hanging out all day, taking naps whenever she wants and getting unlimited belly rubs.
9. What would you consider to be the greatest invention of your lifetime and why?  Not as much of an invention as a release to the public, but GPS has been such an amazing addition to my life, not only for driving directions but also for entertainment.
10. Best meal you've ever had? Last April, Brad and I combined a Groupon and a giftcard to have dinner at John Howie Steak in Bellevue, it was such an amazing meal (the sauce was cooked at our table).  We could have had banana's foster cooked at our table for dessert, but we were already stuffed.
11. If you could have 1 wish granted, what would it be? Can I wish more more wishes? ;) Probably not so then I'd wish for unlimited vacation budget and time.
