My brother came to visit me this past week. He is moving to Phoenix next month and wanted his DSLR back (I've been borrowing it since February). I've gotten used to having a nice camera and couldn't quite go back to my 6+ year old point and shoot so off to Costco we went! There is one good thing that has come out of this leg injury...a handicap parking pass. Costco on Friday evenings are a lot more fun with it. The parking pass has been pretty helpful, it's not so much the close proximity to the entrance as it is the extra space on the side for Brad to bring my scooter to my door. We walked into Costco and walked out a few minutes later with my new toy - a Nikon D5100! I was debating between the Nikon and the Canon T3i but went with the Nikon since that is the brand I had been using for the past few months and also the one site I used to compare said the D5100 was better. I've been playing around with my new toy this weekend, but I really need to get out of the house so I have more to take pictures of than just Pip and Princes.

One of the features I'm enjoying is that LCD screen comes out of the back and rotates. I think I need to look for a Groupon deal to teach me how to use it better. I figured out some items but could still use some guidance.
Now just to find a pretty camera strap cover (but not too girly that Brad doesn't want to hold it) and a nicer looking bag.
Sweet! Been dying to get me one for awhile now. I have to wait till I go away in September though, it's much too expensive in Trinidad.

Hi there Kendra! I saw your craft room on Linda's blog and loved it and had to come check out your blog because it looks like you're from the Seattle area, too. I am new-ish to DSLR cameras and absolutely love mine and would tell you that you're going to love yours too, but you already know how great they are. Enjoy your toy!
