The one good thing about having my list is that I don't forget about things that need to be done. I didn't get to the hottub chemicals 3 days a week, but I did do them twice which is a great improvement from the past few months. While Brad worked this weekend at updating my closet, I worked on the windows and mirrors, both of which were on the list to be completed.
Now for the amazing cleaning tip of the week!
DIY Fabric Softener
The recipe makes a GIANT batch, so it might be easier to cut it in half or third.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup baking soda
- 6 cups white vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 10-15 drops essential oil (I love using lavender)
- Use however much you want to get your preferred level of fragrance
- Bucket
- Wooden Spoon
Directions:
- Put the baking soda into the bucket
- Add the water
- SLOWLY add the vinegar. Remember, baking soda + vinegar = exploding volcano
- Stir until the baking soda dissolves.
- Add in the essential oil
- Pour into smaller container to keep by the laundry
- Add about 1/2 cup per load of laundry - just put into the spot where the fabric softener goes.
How is everybody's spring cleaning going? Have a happy first day of summer tomorrow!

Just wondering.... where do you buy your essential oil? Do you buy locally or have a good online source? Thx!
ReplyDeleteI've bought my essential oils both at a local heath foods store as well as amazon.com
